This was such an unnecessary fucking jab, like, what was Volstagg trying to accomplish here other than literally just making Loki feel like shit? This is legit what bullying looks like.
Not to mention the fact that that’s not even what had just happened – Loki was never actually at a loss for words during this scene, he just kept getting interrupted as soon as he started trying to say anything. First by Heimdall, then Thor. He starts to talk, Heimdall cuts him off (though tbh I don’t really fault Heimdall for it in this particular instance bc i think he just knew what was up and didn’t want to deal with this bullshit). He starts getting ready to talk his way out if it and Thor ends it immediately. Then I guess Volstagg felt the need at that moment to make that unnecessary comment? Loki basically just gets walked all over by everyone in this scene and I feel like this film did a pretty good job of strongly implying that’s pretty much the norm for Loki, so it’s weird to me that so many people don’t see it.
And they cut the next part where Loki shoots back “Get me off this bridge before it cracks under your girth.“

It’s so fucked up that women are so universally dismissed and hated in society that nearly every single woman goes through a phase (if not a lifetime) of thinking she isn’t like other women purely because she has rational thoughts, hobbies, feelings, and needs.
