The things I learned from my parents, what was deeply ingrained in their generation, is this idea of opportunity and the freedom to have an opportunity. The way the United States was thought of is as a place you can have this chance to do anything, to say, “This is my idea, and I get to offer it to you, and if you like it, I can profit from it.” It’s why they were so encouraging of me to act too, because they knew how much easier it was to do here.

The thing that kinda blows my mind all the time is like, sorta at conventions or even sometimes on the street I’ll run into people who actually have come back from war and have experienced Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, they’ll come and say to me: “you know, it’s so interesting watching this because it really brings me back, or makes me feel better about some things, or it’s helped me dealt with certain things in my life”, so even though they’re comic book movies, there’s sort of this other layer to it that I think it’s full of other depth, so to speak.

favorite story: apparently, while filming “black swan,” the director would try to pit mila kunis and natalie portman against each other, telling them that the other woman was doing a better job, in hopes of making their characters’ rivalry seem more authentic. but it completely backfired, since instead of getting angry or competitive, natalie and mila would just congratulate each other on doing such good work.

Directors who do stuff like this are pieces of shit

What men think women are like verses what women are actually like
